Liberal Democrats are calling at tomorrow's Council meeting for the County Council to take more action to aid the economy in Oxfordshire.

Cllr Jean Fooks said, "In the current difficult situation, young people particularly are finding it hard to find jobs. We urge the Council to maximise education and training opportunities to help them gain the work skills needed.

"However, we must not forget the environment. The threat to the economy posed by climate change is especially serious. The priority must be for jobs that help to minimise the effects of climate change; the economic recovery must be sustainable both in the short and long term.

"We all must all work together across the county. We should be seeking ideas from businesses, from our staff and from the public to achieve this."
